Cast Iron CORROSION CAN CAUSE WATER DAMAGE
If you live in an older home, you likely have cast iron drain-waste-vent (DWV) pipes. These pipes remove wastewater from your home. The wastewater travels from individual fixtures, such as a washing machine or toilet, to waste stacks, then down to the main drain line. From there, it is carried through underground sewage lines to the city sewer or septic system.
Unfortunately, cast iron tends to corrode over time, meaning it won’t last forever. Once your DWV pipes begin to fail, they will need to be replaced to avoid water damage, which can cause structural problems. Pro-Tec specializes in the maintenance, repair and replacement of drain-waste-vent (DWV) pipes, and we’d love to help.
